Is there a reason that during indoor rowing exercises it never asks for distance rowed or watts rowed or even calories rowed?

There is no reason it should; it does, however, already display the number of calories, heart rate, intensity zone etc. but there is no reason for it to measure the distance rowed as the rower typically wouldn't need this information. To date, there is no way to request this information, apart from what you see on your rowing machine. Apologies.

why do you think it is not needed for distance on a rower? I find that my apple watch recording of my work out is completely inaccurate compared to the the Concept 2 PMI. Rowing 10k in an hour is a far different workout than 7k in the same time.

Concept 2 watches watts, stroke rate, distance and classes the rower in light/heavyweight.

My workout per apple is >100 cal burned off due to this lack of data collected.
