iPod 3gen to new car's speakers
Connect Old iPod 3gen to play through speakers of 2023 Nissan Rogue? or CarPlay? I really don't need to involve systems of either...just to the speakers. Passenger can control it from the iPod.

If your iPod has Bluetooth, you should be able to connect to the car's infotainment system (the car stereo) by that method. Be aware though, that some systems do not allow two devices to connect to the Bluetooth input at the same time. In other words, you may not be able to connect both the iPod and your phone by Bluetooth on the same occasion.
Alternatively, if your new car has an AUX input (a 3.5mm jack socket), try using that for the iPod. This involves a cable connection from the iPod's headphone outlet to the AUX input on your car. With this setup, you can still have your phone connected by Bluetooth.
It's a long time since I did anything with an iPod Classic, but you could try connecting it to the car by using the charging cable that came with it.
In other words, plug the cable into your iPod's 32-pin port and the USB end of the iPod into a USB socket in your car. You may have to wait a few moments for the car to see the iPod, but eventually the relevant USB input listed in your car's infotainment system should read iPod (or something similar).

Thanks, the fiend, my friend! There's no BT in either device. In the car, we've looked high and low for an AUX input...in and around the armrest and glove compartment, the backseat controls, and around the infotainment area itself, and see quite a few USB ports, but nothing is round or marked AUX.
In our 12 yr old Volvos, we just chose the Media option and plugged the iPod Touch Gen3 or the iPod Classic Gen1 right into the USB slot inside the armrest, to quickly play through the car speakers.
And, of course, the new car people assured us there would be no problem at all in playing my music through the car speakers. :-I
Had I known this beforehand, it would have been a no-sale, gladly keeping the practically new-like Volvo! That's how important my music is to me.
I WILL try that suggestion of yours from the iPod's headphone and see if there's a way to get one of the USB ports to work in lieu of an AUX, and see what happens. SURELY I'm not the only one with this problem, but all the YouTube fixes involved an AUX shown clearly in earlier versions of this car. I don't know why they would have stopped with this one, since it has every thing else under the sun. They WILL be hearing from me.
Thanks again, the fiend!

Thanks so much, my friend, the fiend! Good news is that it's even easier. We wrote out easy Step-by-Step Instructions for anyone having the same problem (no cable needed, except for Charging)!
Connect an iPod3 to 2023 Nissan Rogue Platinum, or probably any “iDevice” and auto having Bluetooth:
On iPod3: Settings>Bluetooth
On Car’s Infotainment Screen: Menu>Connections>New Connection>AddNewDevice
On iPod: Bluetooth, Choose (Your Car’s Name)
On Car’s Infotainment Screen you’ll see: Your Car’s Name>Connected.
For Charging only (Nissan Rogue only; may vary on others): From the backseat, on back of Armrest, plug your Original 30pin Connector (with iPod3 attached) to USB-A.
We are happy non-campers, and thanks again to the fiend!
