My phone was stolen and my MacBook has recent messages but my new iPhone 12 isn't showing any texts past 2017. I though Messages would be in the iCloud. There are some precious ones that I can't lose.
Does anyone please know how can I transfer them to my phone?

You can restore data if you have an iCloud or iTunes backup.

Then you weren't backing up to icloud or ituens if you restore from it and didn't your data back. There is no way to recover it.
