Spell check does not show any suggestions

I have a 2020 iPad and recently, when there is a spelling error which is underlined in red, clicking on the word would not give me any suggestions. Only selects the word in red but no suggestions underneath.

Right click on the keyboard pad does not work either.

Spellcheck in Pages When I open my documents in Pages, most words are underlined in red despite being spelled correctly. Some of the suggestions are in English, and some are in other languages. Does anyone have a fix for this? I have tried a software update, restarting the iPad, resetting the keyboard, and changing the keyboard to another language and then changing it back. The only thing that worked was turning spellcheck off completely, but it’s a really useful tool and I’d rather not lose it.

iPad typing wrong characters not matching keyboard input I have checked the keyboard settings, and also turned off the iPad for several minutes. No change, the entries on the screen do not match the keys hit on the keyboard. Is this a fatal error, is the iPad about to have a complete stroke with the blue screen of death. Unable to edit misspelled words on iPhone keyboard Am I missing something? When I try and click on a misspelled word to correct it I am not able. The cursor jumps to a different spot and if I try too many times it comes up with the selection bubble and that is hard to get out of. I don't use autocorrect but apple seems to have made it impossible to correct words short of deleting the entire word and retyping. This seems like basic keyboarding to me so I have to be missing something? I cant see intentionally making something that is so easy into something impossible.
