trying to open an old phone......forgot password and am now locked out......the screen says iphone disabled connect to iTunes now what? help lol.

If you forgot your iPhone passcode - Apple Support
If it’s iPhone 6 or earlier, running apps acquired from the app store is getting more problematic as support for older iOS versions is dropped by the app developers. iPhone 8 (from the footer) can get to iOS 16 (current), but no further.
