M2 air battery draining

Hi,

My new M2 air battery draining too fast. With 100% power, it only performs 8-9 hours of normal usage (MS Outlook, word, excel, Telegram, Viber, and Safari browsing). I think this normal usage should meet 18 hours of performance as Apple advertised.

When I run a diagnostic test while unplugging from power, this error keeps appearing () and I have tried so many times, but it keeps appearing. However, when it's plugged into power, there is no error. Is anyone here with the same problem?

Few info:

Cycle count: 8

Battery: Normal, 100%

Model: M2 air

Power: apple 30w adapter, usb-c cable

MacBook Air, macOS 13.4

Apple's specifications for that model are here: MacBook Air (M2, 2022) - Technical Specifications. It is very specific. The 18 hours of battery life does not consider "MS Outlook, word, excel, Telegram, Viber, and Safari browsing."

The battery performance you describe is well within normal. Microsoft products are not known for their energy efficiency. Use Activity Monitor to identify energy-intensive processes: Activity Monitor User Guide for Mac - Apple Support
