Hello,

The TV app is an automatically included app for macOS and I do not believe there is a way to delete it. However, you can likely modify the app that opens your M4V files by setting it to your preferred video payer.

To do this, use Finder to get to the folder or location of one of your M4V videos then control click it. Select "Get Info" from the menu. In the Get Info window, scroll to the "Open With" section then select your preferred app in the dropdown and press "Change all" which should set your selected app to open all M4V video files.

I hope this helps.

The included applications are stored on a sealed, encrypted volume. They CANNOT be deleted. However, you can use the instructions provided above to select some other application as the default for viewing videos.

You can probably just drag the app to the Trash and empty the Trash. But I wouldn't. That application is the one that you need for playing any movies or TV shows that you purchase through the iTunes Store (including any digital copies that you redeem through the iTunes Store, or a Movies Anywhere account linked to it).

Are you trying to make it so that when you double-click on a .M4V file, the Finder opens another application? The way to do that is to do a Get Info on one of those files in the Finder.

In the middle of the Get Info dialog, you'll see an Open with pop-up menu. Select the application which you want the Finder to use to open that file. Below that is a heading Use this application to open all documents like this one. Below that is a button called Change All… Click on that button and you can set up your preference for all of your .M4V files.

Exactly. I managed to get rid of it somehow on MacBook Pro that it’s not bothering me but I can’t get rid of it from Apple TV so I am trashing my Apple TV now and would use Samsung tv directly using it’s built in apps. At least there won’t be any Samsung app to hijack the tv. Apple TV has become too annoying with its app which doesn’t let you use any other app freely
