Can I pre-order an iPhone/Apple Watch on USA release day in a different country when traveling abroad when I live and reside in United States of America?
No new watch has been announced. There is no version of the watch that can be pre-ordered at all right now.
You can not order the US model of any Apple product to be picked up in a country other than the US.
If you want to order a US phone, you will have to use a US issued credit card and have a US shipping/billing address.
If your Apple ID region is the U.S., when you log into the Apple Store online, you should be in the U.s. version. If not, you can change it by going to the very bottom right of the page and clicking on the name of whatever country shows there.
Let me clarify better. Let's say the iPhone 15 Pro releases Friday September 15th at 7am USA time. I'm in Italy at that time. I live and reside in America. Can I still pre-order my iPhone in Italy at 2:00pm Italy time? I am a part of the iPhone upgrade program.
USA preorder is a farce. I had my iPhone 15 ProMax pre-order all set up. The only thing remaining was the shipping details. I got on the apple store app right at 5am pacific time. The app says something about updating. Then it comes back and phone and and record of my Pre-order has vanished. All within a minute or so after preorders opened.
Pretty disappointing for a tech company.

I had my pre-order set up days in advance, logged in this morning and had my confirmation less than 5 minutes later. Apple has really upped their game with the pre-orders. Couldn't have been smoother.

Is there a specific way to do it? Or is it the same way you would do it in your home country? Do I have to change the region, currency, etc?
