I can delete some of my photos from my iPhone, but most of them do not have the trash can active. It is not selectable, hence I cannot delete thousands of my photos. How can I activate the delete/trash can for all and any photos?

How can I activate the delete/trash can for all and any photos? I am using the All Photos - Select, then swipe multiple photos at a time. However, even when I select a single photo this way, the trash can is often inactive.

Hi LCelsie,

Thanks for posting in Apple Support Communities.

We understand you're unable to delete many of your photos. If you synced them using Finder or iTunes on your computer, you will need to connect to your computer and choose to un-sync them in order to remove them. Connect your iPhone, choose your iPhone in the sidebar and it will show content that can be synced to iPhone. You will chose Photos. If you synced them using this method, there will be a checkbox to un-sync them.

Sync your photos manually using the Finder - Apple Support

Sync photos in iTunes on PC with devices - Apple Support

Regards.
