How do I remove duplicate photos

Are you sure they are duplicate photos? Note that if you put a photo into more than one album it is the same photo that exists only once in the library, but linked to each of the photo albums.

Also, if you have HDR, Live Photos or burst mode photos (where you hold down the “shutter” button) you will have multiple photos for each visible photo in the Photos app.
