Phone gets stuck on 00:00 when answering calls

This has been happening a lot lately. Several friends and colleagues have reported the same issue. On different networks (ATT, T-Mobile, etc). Common link is iPhone.

Always the same way:

Phone rings

I swipe right to pick up

It looks like it answers, but the timer under the name of the contact is stuck at 00:00

I can't hear anything

They can't hear anything

I have to hang up and call them back

iPhone 12 Pro 512GB with 80% free storage.

iOS 16.5 (upgraded recently. Problem was happening before the update and still occurs now).

Restarting the phone does NOT fix the issue.

Any help? Please?

If you have a hearing or sound issue on your device then please try some of these processes to set it right

If the above options do not mitigate the issues then Contact your carrier and then Contact Apple Support

Restart the device. That's it.
Still not solved --> Force restart iPhone - Apple Support

Can you solve the problem?

I have the same issue; ı was using iPhone 11 and same carrier, then ı had an iPhone 14 pro and this problem started.

I restarted, force restarted, reset via iTunes with pc, but unfortunately the same! I called carrier but they said there is no problem, called apple costumer service, they connected to my phone and said that there is no mechanical problem on your phone.

how I can solve this?thank you.
