I have a shortcut "add current song to playlist" it does not work from Apple watch...

I have a shortcut "add the current song to playlist" but it does not work (add the song to playlist selected in shortcut) from an Apple watch. It DOES work from iphone. Why won't it add the song to the playlist as the shortcut was designed, running it from the watch, but DOES add the song when you run the same shortcut from iPhone?

Same problem as in my case. On iPhone, all shortcuts using „Get Current Song” work flawlessly. On Mac, „Get Current Song” returns nothing (you can try to send a notification with „Current Song” - it is empty). Probably it’s similar case to the one on Apple Watch.

AFAIK this problem relates to songs played from outside of music library.

Any chances for Apple devs to look at that and maybe fix the bug? Looks like something wrong with the API for Mac OS and Watch Music app.

Hi Wil5748,

If this is a Shortcut you installed from the gallery, removing and re-adding that shortcut may prove helpful. If this is one that you obtained from someone else, checking with the creator for troubleshooting might be necessary or if you made this yourself you may find helpful information at Shortcuts User Guide to ensure it is configured properly.

Barring those, if this is an Apple-offered shortcut and not working as expected, you may contact Apple Support directly to investigate further.

Regards.

Hello!

Thank you for the reply. This is a shortcut I created it's a very simple shortcut and it works flawlessly on the iPhone by either pressing the home screen shortcut or double tapping the back as I've assigned double tap to it as well, however, the functionality does not transfer over to the watch. I've selected the shortcut as being viewable in the watch OS, I do see it there and when I click on it I can see that it runs however it does not produce (place) a song currently being played function (adding it to the playlist assigned) from the watch as it does from the phone.

Again the shortcut works flawlessly from the phone, so I assumed if the shortcut is compatible with the watch the selection to make it viewable by the watch and therefore usable by the watch would by definition mean that it is compatible for the watch however the functionality is not working from the watch.

So I suppose the overall question is is there a bug in synchronization between watch and phone as it relates to either some or all shortcuts? Maybe as it specifically relates to being able to access and manipulate music playlists from watch to phone?
