My screen keeps freezing and I have to volume up/down and reboot. This has been happening for 4 months with various degrees of intervals. I have erase all my data and restored from the cloud. Still happening. Any help would be much appreciated.

No you don't lose data if you have a backup, but when you restore as NEW, you don't put data back on the phone.
If you have no issues when you restore as new, then something in your backup or your data is causing the issue.
if you still have issue when you restore as new, then it is a hardware issue.
Or you can none of that and continue doing force restart when your screen doesn't respond.

next step is to restore as new and not from backup, and see how the screen goes.
