A BUG IN THE STANDARD APPLE NOTES APP

Hello Apple Community,

I am using Standard Apple NOTES app for my exam preparation. In the middle of note making, it's crashing and nothing saved on IPAD. There is a bug, it's crashing while making notes and nothing saved when you reopened the app.

Please Let me know what is happening and what do I do to overcome of this problem?

iPad, iPadOS 16

Thanks for posting in the Apple Support Communities ABHISHEKNALWAR,

The following steps specifically address issues where an app might close unexpectedly, and often provides a solution:

If an app on your iPhone or iPad doesn't work as expected, try this.

1: Close and reopen the app
Force the app to close. Then open the app to see if it works as expected.

2: Restart your device
Restart your iPhone or restart your iPad. Then open the app to see if it works as expected.

3: Check for updates
To see if updates are available for the app, open the App Store, tap your profile icon, then scroll down to see if updates are available. If updates aren't available for the app, update the software on your iPhone or iPad.

4: Delete the app, then redownload it
Delete the app. When you do this, you might lose data that was stored in the app. Then redownload the app. Then check to see if the problem with the app is fixed.

If an app on your iPhone or iPad stops responding, closes unexpectedly, or won’t open

We hope this helps!

Hi ABHISHEKNALWAR,

We can understand. Let's check some settings for the Notes app. If you were connected to a network when writing your note, it may have synced.

If you go to Settings > Notes > Accounts > Do any of your accounts show Notes are included?

Are you showing iCloud with Notes synced? If so, at Settings > Notes > Default Account > Is iCloud selected?

If you have other email accounts, besides iCloud, set to sync Notes, then check those webmail pages and see if your unfinished Note is shown there.

If you only have iCloud selected to sync Notes, and it's also shown as the Default Account, check the iCloud webpage to see if that unfinished Note is there.

Take care!

Hi @mingoslkd Thank you for your time. Note app default connected iCloud.

The problem I'm facing is, let's assume I am writing something, sometimes taking more time to upload to iCloud.

In that gap it is crashing and nothing is saved on my iPad.

Whatever I write on App simultaneously it's not uploading to iCloud. Even though I have good internet speed.

and I don't want to give option as Save in My iPad because if I Lost iPad I will not have access to those files.

Yes, its the issue with the app. I am using it on ipad and iphone. Its behaving funny. There was a handwritten note from my ipad that i checked on my phoNe a night before and later in morning the note was noT there. I checked the entire app thoroughly.

now last night i wrote another note and in morning it was not there but the note from previous nigh came back. (Under Quick note menu)

also, sometimes while writing with my pencil 2 on my ipad pro m1, I use eraser to erase something and later while writing, I see that erased lines flashing back. Also, one time I saw purple colour flash on notes screen (using stage manager) while taking a note in (notes app)
