I had the same issue! After months working with Apple Support, I stumbled upon the solution:

If yours was like mine, you notice that iCloud Drive page would load for a second and you would see some favorites in the left sidebar with a spinner below. Then after a second the error dialog would come up saying "Drive has stopped responding. An error has prevented this application from working properly. Help Apple improve its products by sending us diagnostic and usage information about Drive." with a details disclosure (which is where you got those logs which are similar to mine):

What I realized is that that spinner below the list of Favorites was the key. I went to my iOS device and unfavorited folders until I had less than 10 favorites. Once I did that, the error dialog no longer appears when going to iCloud Drive in a browser window.

The reason is that there must be a bug in iCloud.com/iclouddrive that has issues when loading more than 10 Favorites which is why it appears on all browsers (since it's a site issue not a browser or account issue) and why it doesn't appear in any browser on a tablet (since the tablet view doesn't show the sidebar where Favorites are).

I was able to reproduce the issue in multiple accounts. As soon as the 11th favorite is added, the error appears on the website. When the number of favorites goes back down to 10, the error goes away.

I almost lost all my data due to engineering wanting to reset my account to solve this issue, but thankfully I figured out the Favorites link and hopefully this will help others workaround this issue until Apple issues a code fix.

Hi marlamiata,

We appreciate you reaching out to us.

Have you had the chance to check if there is an outage or maintenance?

Apple - Support - System Status

If there is an outage or maintenance, please try the troubleshooting steps below.

First, let's restart your MacBook Pro.

Restarting your device may help in correcting the issue.

Shut down or restart your Mac - Apple Support

Another factor that may cause the issue is your internet connection.

If possible, please check if the issue persists on a different Wi-Fi network.

If yo continue to experience the issue on a different Wi-Fi network, please check if the issue persists while on safe mode.

Safe mode does a basic check of your startup disk, similar to using First Aid in Disk Utility.

Performing this step may help resolve the issue, or further isolate the issue.

Below is an article to help guide you through the process.

Use safe mode on your Mac - Apple Support

If the issue persists on safe mode,  please test if the issue happens on a newly created user account.

  1. "On your Mac, choose Apple menu > System Settings, then click Users & Groups  in the sidebar. (You may need to scroll down.)
  2. Click the Add Account button below the list of users on the right (you may be asked to enter your password.)
  3. Click the New Account pop-up menu, then choose a type of user.
  4. Enter a full name for the new user. An account name is generated automatically. To use a different account name, enter it now—you can’t change it later.
  5. Enter a password for the user, then enter it again to verify. Enter a password hint to help the user remember their password.
  6. Click Create User."

You can use the article below as a reference.

Take care!
