Photo albums

Can I open 2 photo albums side by side on my MacBookpro?

In Photos you can view only one Photos at a time, and in the library you can have only one album open. You would have to make a screenshot of the other album, that you want to compare your album to.


But there is a nice third-party companion to Photos,  PowerPhotos from fatcatsoftware: See this link: https://www.fatcatsoftware.com/powerphotos/. Even the free trial version will allow you to open a second window for your Photos Library, and this way you can easily compare albums or even different Photos Libraries, or view the albums in a list view, so you can compare the metadata. The full, paid version of PowerPhots lets you move photos between libraries or merge libraries.
