I have had the same problem for the past two days -- I am the administrator and cannot cancel a print job. The advice below I found unhelpful. Where am I meant to cut and paste lprm from and onto? As for CUPS, I have no idea what that is. If I open the terminal app there is some small writing in code. If I open the printer to print something, it immediately wants to print previous jobs I can't delete. I can pause the job, but where am I meant to type lprm or whatever?

From the Terminal.app to cancel a print job immediately copy and paste:

lprm

you can use CUPS management, see admin copy and paste into your browser:

http://localhost:631

and "Jobs"

if no interface, then from Terminal.app copy & paste:

cupsctl WebInterface=yes

Launch the Terminal application. Ignore any information printed to its screen. Either copy and paste lprm, or literally type those four characters in the Terminal command line, followed by a return. Then quit Terminal.

The lprm command will serve no purpose if the print job has transferred into the printers memory or has completed.
