How does the point system work and when can you expect to level up
How does the point system work and when can you expect to level up
I guess that would depend on how much a person contributes, the quality of the answers, and the willingness of the person asking the question to award solved or helpful points. Some have made it to the 8,000 point plateau in months, others have taken years to reach that level.
Please see: How to use Apple Support Communities
I know but that’s not what im asking, I know how to use it but im asking when would you expect to level up if you’re contributing somewhat often

You’ve been a member here since October 2019, and have accrued 42 points. That’s roughly a point a month, and is also roughly a third of the way to level 2 at 150 points.
Here is a direct link to how the points are accrued: Share what you know and get recognized - Apple Support
I’ve been at this since 2007, and in the middling for numbers of points acquired per day, as compared with the rates some other members acquire points. Some acquire hundreds of points per day. But this isn’t about them. Or me. It’s about you.
And remember we are not allowed to ask for or suggest that we get any points awarded. So it can take a while; I have never paid any attention to it. If you are here for the points, you will soon tire of the whole thing; the "regulars" are here because they enjoy helping others and I have learned a great deal just reading others' solutions.
I’m also here to help but I’ve heard that the “ you’ve reached your posting limits” error goes away at level 2. That error is annoying when you’re trying to help someone
fiy I haven’t that’s just my Apple account age I’ve been doing this for at a max of 2 weeks
and posting this message I’ve reached my posting limit
I get it - I guess I've never posted fast enough to get that notice in the early days.
Unfortunately, we do get a lot scam or spam posts and I'd rather be inconvenienced but not see a lot of unwanted content, so they had to try to curb that.

In a month or so then, that posting rate limit message will go away.
That the forums aren’t overrun with spam is no small effort, and the early rate limit is part of that.
I was wondering how anyone would get a response from someone if they have a post limit
They’ll get a response… eventually. You’ll just have to wait for the limit to expire.
What I used to do, is answer questions, and then, when I tried to post “the last question”, the posting limit kicked in, and I was unable to post the question.
Then, I refreshed the page, which somehow lifted the posting limit one more time, so I could post the reply that I had been working on, and then that was that for a while.
So, unfortunately, this is the way it is until your reach Level 2. Good Luck!
Oh you’re the person who i saw say that once you hit level 2 it’ll lift I thought it was you
Yup… keep in mind, this is not a fact, but a theory of mine. However, I have it on good authority that it is most likely true.
Have a wonderful day!
Also be aware that very often, no matter how helpful or precise your help was, users often don't mark your answer with either a Helpful or Solved. The either mark nothing and are never heard from again, or they say something like, "Thanks! That worked!", and then mark their own "thanks" as Solved.
Basically, expect that you won't get points where you should have about a third of the time. It's partly why I and most regularly attending members pay no attention at all to points.
Well said.
