Greyed out Time on iPhone screen

My phone was locked up with the message phone is unavailable for four minutes. I turned it off and on with no success, and this time the message on the lock screen said the phone was unavailable for five minutes. Later on, the phone worked fine. Now I've noticed the date and time are greyed out to a point you can't read it in sunlight. I've tried to alter it through the Wallpaper settings with no change. I'm afraid to back my phone up as it might be hacked ... please help. The phone is NOT jailbreaked and is an iPhone 11 and is up-to-date software-wise. I have tried to fix this in the wallpaper setting to no avail.
