Scroll wheel sketchUp or CAD zoom in/out

I use several CAD or CAD-like programs that are browser-based applications. In the world of CAD one zooms closer to or farther from an object they are designing, normally using the mouse scroll wheel. This the first time I have tried these functions on an iPad with BT mouse. The iPad recognizes the mouse scroll wheel in a browser page like this website, and it moves the view up and down. But when working in the browser window for SketchUp (the browser based CAD app I’m using today) mouse scroll wheel does nothing.

Anyone experienced this? Is there a setting either in iOS or Safari that will allow me to zoom in and out of the view, instead of just up and down a webpage?

ps: When just generally using my mouse scroll wheel in iOS it works backwards, i.e. scrolls down when the wheel I rolled back, up when the wheel goes forward. The is usually adjustable somewhere, like the driver, or specific apps, but I can’t find a control for it anywhere.

Ah, thanks mate. Pinch works.

I didn’t know (sarcasm) an iPad wasn’t a desktop or laptop. iPads ARE NOT merely touchscreen devices any longer. We’re moving forward. Expanding functionality to grasp more uses and users.

I want to use it my way. iPads use mice now. They are replacing laptops every day. So if a company wants to replace another technology they offer users the ability to do something the “Apple” way, or the “Customer” way. Either/or, not one way only. (Apple added pen like WACOM. Added mouse, like rest of the computing world.)

If you make tablets and you only want customers who limit themselves to using touch screens forever (obviously not), don’t make them mouse compatible, or for that matter PEN compatible.
