My voice sounds muffled from my iphone 12. Tried everything but nothing works.

my 12 pro muffles incoming voice on calls, but voice is clear on speaker phone when i receive or make a call from my iphone 12 pro, the voice on the other end of the call is muffled unless I put the phone in speaker mode

Garbled voice Using iPhone X with iOS 16, caller hears my voice garbled. Sound checks ok using voice memo. Also I’m unable to hear caller unless using speaker.
