Face ID suddenly disabled after upgrade to 16.5. Does anyone have a workaround for this issue? Apple wants me to take the phone in for service. This is nonsense; plainly it is a bug in the iOS. Has anyone found a fix.

that link isn’t helpful at all. The first thing suggested it perform an update. Thats what caused the darn issue. Mine was working perfectly fine yesterday. This morning I wake up to an auto update and Face iD is broken. There is no change.
Same. Couldn't agree more. I suspect this is one of Apple's many scams to force you to buy the latest phone.
