Red underlining in Freeform

Hey!

I'm trying to get rid of the red underlining in Freeform. I turned off all auto spelling settings, but the red underlining is still there.

1. Check Language Settings:

- Ensure that the language settings in the Freeform app match the language you're typing in. Sometimes, mismatched language settings can trigger red underlining.

2. Restart the App:

- Close the Freeform app completely by swiping it away from the multitasking view. Then, reopen the app to see if the red underlining persists.

3. Restart Your iPad:

- Sometimes, a simple restart of your iPad can resolve minor software glitches. Press and hold the Power button until the power-off slider appears, then drag the slider to power off your iPad. After a few moments, press and hold the Power button again until the Apple logo appears to restart your iPad.

4. Check for App Updates:

- Ensure that the Freeform app is up to date. Go to the App Store, search for the Freeform app, and see if there are any updates available. If so, download and install the updates.

5. Reset Keyboard Dictionary:

- Go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Keyboard Dictionary. This will reset the keyboard dictionary used by the iOS system, which might help resolve any spelling-related issues.

6. Contact Freeform Support:

- If the issue persists after trying the above steps, consider reaching out to Freeform's customer support for further assistance. They may be able to provide specific troubleshooting steps or insights into why the red underlining is appearing in the app.

By following these steps, you should be able to troubleshoot and hopefully resolve the issue with red underlining in the Freeform app on your iPad Pro.

I’m still having this problem on my ipad air 5th gen with ios 17.3

This is so annoying and especially if you are mixing languages. Then every single word is underlined for the language not selected in the settings. How is it possible that this is not fixed yet?

Thank you for the reply. Much appreciated.

I have tried the above and it worked a few times but only for the language selected in freeform. I write in both english and swedish so no matter how I do it one language is always going to be underlined. Seems to me the only real solution is that apple make their own app actually respond to the keyboard settings in their own operating system.
