Unable to delete messages in Mail

Hi there

I am unable to delete messages out of my mail boxes that are . When I try to move the messages to trash I get the spinning beach ball then the following error message:

83 messages could not be moved to the mailbox "Trash - On My Mac" The operation couldn't be completed. File exists

Any ideas? I am running Mail 4.3

I am getting the same message on one of my machines too. Very annoying!

Just an update

I decided as I had a few other niggles creeping in with my mac getting a tad slow to do a Disk Verify with Disk Utility which found a few problems and suggested I do a Disk Repair using my Install Disk.

Since doing the repair the email problem has completely disappeared and I can delete emails without any error messages. I guess I just needed to do a little housekeeping!
