AuSampler Keyboard will not show up! Can someone please help me?

I've used garage band for some years but took a two year break because of school. I wanted to get back into making beats, so i went to try and sample some one-shot sounds but when i got to the sampler, the keyboard to add the audio doesn't show. I'm not sure if there was an update that removed the sampling feature but is there any way or reason why it is not showing up for me? I've used command k to show the instrument keyboard but that was no help.
