If I delete my email account. Will I loose all my previous emails and contacts?

One thing I find very difficult is finding my questions to problems I've already post to continue.

With that said.

If I delete my email account. Will I loose all my previous emails and contacts?

In order to view an email message. Now I have to click on reply. Wait for the email reply to open. Then I click on the link in the email to go where I want to go. I've tried making a new account while keeping my old account but iCloud doesn't let me do that seeing there is an account already with iCloud.
