Go to a specific slide during Keynote presentation

During a Keynote presentation, I want to go to a specific slide number by entering the slide number and pressing enter. This works fine. However, when I start typing the number, a navigation pane of all the slides opens on the left side of the screen - not desired. Is there a way to suppress this navigation pane from opening and have the presentation just go directly to the number I enter?
