Backup No Longer Working Ove Xfinity Wi-Fi - Getting "Poor Network Conditions" Error Message

I can no longer backup over Xfinity Wi-Fi. I've reset the network settings, reset the modem, and even got a new Xfinity modem. I keep getting an error message saying "The last backup could not be completed because of poor network conditions". The network conditions are not poor.

UPDATE 8/7/23: We do not require anymore examples at this time.

We’re aware of an issue that may be preventing some customers with one of our

Advanced Gateway devices from backing up their mobile devices while

connected to their home WiFi network. Our engineering teams are working

on a fix and we hope to have this issue resolved soon.

Sounds like they are not connecting one to one with additional users beyond the initial test group. They have the info they need, and have a fix that works. I hope they roll out it out very soon.

Are you watching the Reddit discussion? That's where all new info will be posted. Here is the latest from Xfinity, posted yesterday:

"Once we have an update patch, yes it will be pushed out automatically to

the affected network equipment. These updates typically go out

overnight when network traffic is at its lowest."


I would also check your Gateway occasionally to see if there's been a new update to your firmware (compare old firmware # to what shows).

Have you read all the comments here? For the most part, Xfinity is clueless, but they are working on a patch to fix this issue. If you find the Reddit link a few comments above, you will see the Service notice, info, updates and the CCMod who’s working on it.

I was fortunate to be in the test group who had their XB8 firmware updated and everything is now fixed so I have confidence that everyone else will be taken care of. Apple can’t help, but you can use an Ethernet cable for your downloads and updates until your Gateway is fixed. I did that for 1-1/2 months and it worked great.

It would be better to comment on Reddit or Xfinity’s Community so they will see it.
