Backup No Longer Working Ove Xfinity Wi-Fi - Getting "Poor Network Conditions" Error Message

I can no longer backup over Xfinity Wi-Fi. I've reset the network settings, reset the modem, and even got a new Xfinity modem. I keep getting an error message saying "The last backup could not be completed because of poor network conditions". The network conditions are not poor.

This started with getting a new gateway from Xfinity and the upgrade is it now has IPV6 with IPV4. The issue is not all IOS processes are IPV6 compatible and there is no way to disable IPV6 on Xfinity. The only work around is to get your own router that has this function and disable it until IOS does the update. This sucks but there’s no other way. 😔

Thanks for the update. I would not try the call tech support option… I was transferred between “tech support” and hold for about three hours yesterday, until I was finally transferred to “advanced technical support” who insisted the issue had nothing to do with firmware and that I was crazy. Hopefully they roll out the update to everyone soon.

Joan yes I have been reading all the messages

sorry if I am annoying

I understood all people who reached out to Reddit and they fixed yours and a few others as a test - I also reached out today on Reddit and sent message.

I guess I am concerned- how are they going to know who to fix and update accordingly

I am sure we all don’t like paying for something that is not working as it should

If people still have informative information to provide for the people without all working and or do - it’s very much appreciated

I just want this frustrating situation behind

Debbie -

That was a reply to whitzgw who commented today about doing "the same thing" and downgrading to an XB7.

Since your modem is split, I'm not sure how/if the firmware update "test" would apply, but I'm sure all will be sorted by following the updates that Brian sends. I think you said you preferred having your router split, so all should be working for you right?

Yes, I've received 3 phone calls to make sure that that the firmware update is still working correctly. As another wrote in this thread, it's likely that they are evaluating results in the test group before moving forward with a patch for all others. If you read my earlier comment, I was told that they were experiencing some hold-ups because some users were not getting back to them with results.

Did anyone on this forum who was waiting for a fix receive the updated firmware last night? If so, could you please share the new firmware number? I'm trying to find out if it is different from the patch that the user group received. Here is the the patch firmware number. CGM4981COM_6.3p5s1_PROD_sey.

For those who received the patch and had the issue resolved, did anyone also get the new firmware last night? If so what is the number? Did you need to reconnect to wifi?
