Stuck on "preparing iPhone for restore"

So I got a newer iphone and I was transferring my data from my SE to the X. It was almost complete when the SE suddenly turned into the apple screen and got stuck there for days. I had info on that phone that I needed-some things that I know weren't in the cloud. I plugged the phone into itunes to try and do an update, and the screen has been stuck on "Preparing iphone to restore" for a long time now. The phone has also gone from displaying a laptop and the plug symbol to displaying the black screen with white apple again. No other notifications have popped up. What do I do now?
