Created a very simple text only "Title" in Motion. Why do some of the Published Parameters disappear while using the Title in FCP?

In Motion, I created a very simple Title project called "Chapters."

It is simply a blank screen (i.e. no Title Background or anything). In the middle of the screen I created four text boxes. Each Text box will contain a short phrase or sentence that is the title of a chapter. For example...

  • Chapter 1: The Fox
  • Chapter 2: The Dog
  • Chapter 3: The Cat
  • Chapter 4: The Mouse

The only parameters that I publish are...

The Text box itself (so I can add whatever text I want in FCP)

The Color of the text face (see why, below)

The Properties > Position X, and Y

In order to keep everything straight, as I'm publishing each parameter, I go to the Project [layer] > Project [tab] > Publishing [sub-tab] and I rename each parameter to...

  • Chapter 1 - Text
  • Color (It won't let me change this parameter's name... doh!)
  • Chapter 1 - Position

I do this for each of the four text boxes I created. So, in the end... when I insert the title into a Project in FCP, the parameters show up like this...

=======================

Chapter 1 - Text

Color

Chapter 1 - Position

Chapter 2 - Text

Color

Chapter 2 - Position

Chapter 3 - Text

Color

Chapter 3 - Position

Chapter 4 - Text

Color

Chapter 4 - Position

=======================

I need the color, because as the narrator in my video is talking, I change the color of the text box he's talking about to a different color to highlight it.

Strangely enough... I am not at all able to tell you what does this... but... if I type in the Text in FCP... if I navigate away from the clip and then come back... approx ~50% of the time, the Color parameter disappears from my Title. Sometimes the color parameter disappears for all 4 text boxes... but often it is only one. I cannot seem to replicate it.

When this happens, I have to go into the title (in FCP) and manually drill down and change the "Face" color of the "Text" for that chapter separately. Is it a known issue with Motion that some parameters seem to "vanish" for no clear reason?

And please... before you suggest workarounds... I 100% know that I could create a title with only one text box... and insert it 4 times in FCP and change the title colors that way etc. But... without going into too much detail that would make this post super long... I'm trying to figure this out as a "single" title. Is there some kind of order or operations I'm violating or... anything you guys might know about?

Do the parameters disappear, or does the Title inspector "grow" longer. Each one of those text boxes you publish is a resizable box and sometimes they can grow large enough to hide other parameters past the bottom of the inspector and you have to scroll down to get to them. Otherwise, I cannot reproduce your problem.

Before textboxes resized:

After:

You might notice the scrollbar in this image. You should be able to use it to get all the way to the bottom.

Sometimes the text can actually disappear up the top of the box. In that case, navigate away from the Title and reselect it, the text will be repositioned at the top of the box.

If this isn't your problem, similar screen captures showing the disappeared parameters (before and after they disappear) might help.
