Quick transfer from old phone to new iPhone taking hours?

Just received my new iPhone 14 Pro Max and I'm doing the quick transfer from my old iPhone. The first time everything stalled and the old iPhone became disconnected from the new one. The second time my new iPhone is working; however, the old iPhone still says "Transferring Data to iPhone" and "Time Remaining: estimating..." The grey line shows no suggestion that anything is being transferred and it has been several hours. Is it possible the process has stalled? And what should I do to correct this? I've called Apple Support for suggestions and they just keep saying to "Wait." But it's been four hours and there's only 59 GB on my old iPhone that is supposed to be transferred. Help?

If you're experiencing issues with the data transfer process from your old iPhone to the new iPhone 14 Pro Max, there are a few steps you can try to resolve the problem:

  1. Restart both iPhones: Begin by restarting both your old iPhone and your new iPhone 14 Pro Max. This simple step can often help resolve minor glitches and connectivity issues.
  2. Check Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connections: Make sure that both iPhones are connected to a stable Wi-Fi network, and that Bluetooth is enabled on both devices. A stable and reliable network connection is crucial for a successful data transfer.
  3. Reset network settings: On your old iPhone, you can try resetting the network settings. This can be done by going to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. Keep in mind that this will erase your saved Wi-Fi networks, so you'll need to reconnect to them afterward.
  4. Use a wired transfer method: If the wireless transfer method is not working, you can try using a wired transfer method. This involves using a Lightning to USB-C cable (or an appropriate adapter) to connect your old iPhone to your new iPhone. You can then follow the on-screen prompts to initiate the transfer.
  5. Contact Apple Support again: If none of the above steps resolve the issue, it's recommended to contact Apple Support once more and explain the situation. They may have additional troubleshooting steps or be able to provide further assistance.

It's worth noting that data transfer times can vary depending on the amount of data and other factors. However, if the transfer process has been stalled for an extended period, it may indicate an issue that requires further attention.
