What’s the procedure for putting a new SSD drive in my old Macbook Pro? Hi Everyone! I’ve got a new 2T SSD drive that I want to install in my trusty old Macbook Pro (before the original harddrive fails). And I’d like to then have the SSD drive running the same software as my MBP currently has, or newer if possible. Here are the specifics: Macbook Pro 13 inch mid 2010 serial # W8***ATM OS 10.11.6 2.4 Ghz intel core 2 duo 8GB RAM These applications are what I mostly use on this MBP: Quicktime Player version 10.4 (855) Quicktime Player 7 version 7.6.6 (1709) Final Cut Pro version 10.3.2 Safari version 11.1.2 (11605.3.8.1) I have done some searching to figure this out, but I have not found where I can download OS 10.11.6 - which I believe may be the last update which works on my hardware. Question about installing Yosemite on SSD I have an SSD 1TB drive running Yosemite in a 2009 Mac Pro (my favorite of several Macs). Late last year I noticed that something had gone wrong with the OS. It was missing Safari and System Preferences! Never in my 35 years of Macs have I seen anything like that! I made a boot disk and installed Yosemite on a wiped HDD, and migrated all the stuff on the above drive over and that works fine. Now I'd like to wipe the SSD and copy the contents of the HDD over to it to get the speed back. So my question is this: what format should I use, if it matters, on the SSD? I've read here that APFS is best for SSD drives, but would it be compatible with an old OS like Yosemite? Thanks in advance, Bob

Installing Microsoft Office in older macOS Hello everyone! I have a question regarding Microsoft Office installation in older versions of macOS. I own an old iMac (2011) running High Sierra. I can't upgrade the macOS anymore, as it reached the most recent version supported for this computer. I read in the Microsoft compatibilities page that Office is only supported in the 3 most recent versios of macOS. In this case, High Sierra would not be included. So the question is: when Microsoft states that Office will not be supported anymore on older macOS systems, does that mean that it won't receive any more support and updates, or I won't even be able to install it anymore? I can't seem to find this information and maybe someone here has been through this before. Thanks a lot!
