MacBook Pro M1 Max/Ventura 13.4: Can someone help me understand why search doesn't work...?
I'm autistic, so it's likely an ID10T or PICNIC error...
Basically, nothing happens. I have a folder containing a single file:
But if I then search that folder for that file...tumbleweed.
Doesn't matter if I search by part of the file name, or by extension, still nada.
Tried again with the applications folder. I have DuckDuckGo installed, so I searched 'duck' - zip. Same with 'search this Mac'.
I'm sure it was working. I've switched accounts, I've booted to Safe Mode (currently running in safe mode), but nowt. Even created a new account. That didn't help, either.
To be clear:
- Searching by part of the filename doesn't work
- Searching by extension doesn't work
- Searching within the folder I believe the file to be located doesn't work
- Searching this Mac doesn't work
Is the problem with Ventura - or, as I suspect, with the operator...? Who's the resident macOS guru...? By the way, if you're wondering what MediaHuman is, it's a small app which I use to download tracks from SoundCloud so I can use them with my visualiser app.
