Confused on green ring

Ok so I have been all over the net and no one has an answer. Why so workouts count towards the green ring and some do not?

i can give you a short list.

outdoor walk. Yes

indoor walk. No

yoga. Yes

cycling. No

fishing Yes

So this is not a heart rate issue.

I have unpaired eraser the the watch and phone. Nothing is fixing this issue.

I’m a disabled Veteran and now recovering from open heart surgery. It would help if I could track my activities.

Hello. I am using a Watch series 8, so I do have a different watch. All the workouts that I do (Tennis, Indoor/Outdoor Walk) do get recorded on my green ring. The best suggestion that I can give you would be to contact Apple Support by phone. They are good at what they do, although it may take a bit of time.

I do get the need for fitness tracking. Closing those rings is a big motivator for the "old guy."

Take care!
