I factory restart my MacBook and now my screen is blacked out

I factory restarted my MacBook Air and now my screen is black with a file picture with a question mark in the middle

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 10.12

What is "factory restart?"

A folder with a question mark means it cannot find a bootable OS or parts of it. Do you mean you erased the drive?

You would need to start up in Recovery and reinstall macOS.
