Motion 5 16 bit color?
I'm a professional motion graphics designer, working in film and television. I try to avoid After Effects in favor of Motion 5 as often as I possibly can. It's just so much faster and a more fluid, enjoyable working environment, in my opinion.
Recently, however we were asked to provide final exports in 16bit color.
I cannot find ANY way to do this with Motion 5. An older Motion 4 online manual showed 16 bit and 32 bit float was an option. Is this no longer an option in Motion 5?
I know Motion 5 can work in Wide Gamut HDR color space, but exporting this, even as ProRes4444 XQ results in a file that is "up to 12 bit" as Quicktime identifies it.
Can anyone help me understand if Motion 5.6.4 (the latest as of June 2023) can export 16 bit (or 32 bit) color?
Or, only "up to 12 bit"
If so, this is a big (pro) let down from Apple and the Motion 5 team, who seem to have dumbed down Motion, since version 4. And that might force me back (with absolute regret) to After Effects, just to produce 16 bit color exports... come on Apple?!
Hope I'm missing something, but doesn't seem so.
Thanks.
