I have recently purchased MacBook Air, I need to preview my cr3 raw format photos, when I try to preview it shows you can't view this type document, can you help me which application I need use to view cr3 raw photos

What operating system do you have on the machine? And what camera produces there raw images? The camera model is important as the raw from each model (that's model, not brand) is unique.
I'm using MacOS Monterey M1 chip and camera model Canon EOS R6 mark 2. Please help now
Some options:
Try to upgrade to Ventura and see if that helps.
Use Adobe DNG converter to convert .cr3 to .dng.
Use $$ Adobe Photoshop or Lightroom.
You can preview CR3 files from the Canon EOS R6 Mark II with XnView MP.
The System Information > Raw Support shows Canon EOS R6 II support on Monterey 12.6.6, and yet the Finder and Preview contradict that support. This is remedied in macOS Ventura 13.4 where one can see thumbnails, Quick Look and Preview functionality for this Canon camera model.
