Closing Apps

I know you shouldn't force quit apps on your iPhone unless you need to reset the application. Does the same go for MacBooks?

MacBook Pro 14″, macOS 13.4

I never force quit iOS 16.5 applications and unless a rare application hang condition occurs on macOS Ventura 13.4, I never blithely force quit applications there either.


Force-quitting an application introduces the opportunity for any critical data in buffers to be lost, and introduces the risk that you may interrupt a write operation that damages an open file.
