iweb on high sierra 10.13.6

I published a revision to some text on a webpage that is a hyperlink using iweb but now when I publish the site changes all 6 text hyperlinks on that page are not visible on the internet even though I only changed one of the hyperlinks. The hyperlinks are there after I publish as the hand shows up when moving the mouse over them but the text is just not visible. This procedure has worked fine for many many years, through many revisions, it is this last round that this issue has arisen. Does anyone have an idea on how to resolve this issue?

http://www.barebones.com/ BBEdit and Textwrangler let you edit HTML files directly. If you can download the files directly to your Mac from your web service, you should be able to edit the links on the pages.

Some web hosts have webpage editing directly on their hosting service. You mentioned iWeb. The current release of iWeb likely is not compatible with High Sierra.

If your website is on your iCloud account, see this article:

If your website is on an FTP server, FileZilla is an excellent free software for accessing files over FTP.

Run an HTML validator on the web page: https://validator.w3.org/ and see if any errors are shown.

Also use View Source in Safari or another browser, and check for HTML syntax errors in what is usually the A anchor tag. The A anchor tag usually looks like this: https://www.w3schools.com/tags/tag_a.asp

Here are some alternatives to the long-deprecated iWeb: https://alternativeto.net/software/iweb/?platform=mac

Some of those alternatives are content management systems (WordPress, Drupal, etc), and are probably well more than what you're looking for. (There are commercial hosting sites for those including WordPress, Drupal, Wix and others, as well.) Of what app alternatives are listed, Sparkle app is one that I’ve used. It works. And is fairly similar to iWeb in its design and capabilities. I’ve used Adobe DreamWeaver too, but that’s probably both more expensive and more complex than you would prefer.

All sorts of editors can be used to read and write HTML and CSS including BBEdit, but that also means learning more about HTML and CSS, too. Which is your choice, of course.

I have made similar revisions to my site using this exact OS and it always worked just fine. Its only recently this has happened. Checking the code, my other site pages are the same other than the page name as far as formatting and the other pages seem to work just fine. I can look into other sites I am trying to avoid having to rebuild my site at this point. If you have any other suggestions please let me know.

Sparkle imports the iWeb stuff I've worked with.

I don't know if they support something as far back as macOS 10.13, though.
