iPhone Deleted Messages, But Still On Some Computers - General Related Questions (Though I Know They Are Basically Gone)

I had something weird with my iPhone. I woke up Monday and all my Messages with two different people were gone (all the others were there and fine.). I had last texted them the night before. Additionally there was a change to one of my reminders and also an email that was sent which was just a jumble of letters. All of this happened without me touching the phone. The last message was in fact sent via my iWatch.

Anyway, the deleted messages were then deleted from my iPads because of iCloud synch. They were also deleted from a couple of computers where I had iCloud synch on. On a couple of my computers, however, the iMessages are there, including the ones from the night before. iCloud synch is turned off these computers.

I have backed up the iPhone using iMazing, but the last time was April. My iPhone is not running iOS 16, so the recover deleted messages is off the table. May be time for a new iPhone :) (I know iOS 16 would only work if installed BEFORE the deletion.)

I have searched the web for various solutions, and it seems that I am out of luck on this and the messages are gone - that there is no way to recover the messages to the iPhone.

1.) I have an iMazing back-up of the iPhone as of the beginning of April, so could restore from there if necessary.

2.) I know there is an iCloud back-up of the iPhone AFTER the deletion, but did not see earlier ones. For some reason I thought there used to be a few that would then get deleted as new ones added. Obviously I was wrong.

I turned off the internet connections to the computers with the messages when I booted them, so the messages are there. I probably could turn the internet on since synch with iCloud is not on, but I am concerned about doing so until I back the computers up. I would think that it would not wipe out the Messages since synch to iCloud is off, but do not want to risk it.

So a few questions/confirmations.

A.) If I turn on the internet connection on the computer, but the iCloud synch is OFF on the Messages App, the Messages won’t disappear from the computer? I think they will not disappear. (I will back up before trying this.)

B.) If I turn on the internet on the computer, and the the iCloud synch for messages is turned ON, the Messages on the computer will be deleted since the deletion on the iPhone would force the old ones on the computers to be deleted. This would also apply to my other iPads where iCloud synch is on.

C.) Is there a setting for multiple iCloud back-ups for one device? As mentioned, I thought I saw multiple back-ups on iCloud. I could be thinking of a local back-up.

D.) What could have caused the deletion and changes? I had this happen about three years ago, and also had weird messages sent to multiple people. I changed passwords at the time and Two Factor Authentication is on my account. I am thinking maybe the screen is going bad and causing issues - it has been less responsive and seems to have some dead spots.

E.) Is there any way to force iCloud, or otherwise, to get the iMessage from the computers back to the iPhone? A through D are the big questions. It looks like a big no for this part E. But I figured I would check while going through the rest and in case something is available in newer OSes that I missed - I am running Monterey.

When it is all said and done, it could be worse. But figured I would check. I can get PDFs from the computers for most of the missing messages and have a back-up from two months ago.
