Restoring photos from an old backup (PC)

I want to restore photos from an old iPhone backup in iTunes on PC. Is it safe to do a new backup in iTunes on PC, restore the old one, save the photos, then restore the new current one? Will Restore let me choose which backup to use on each occasion?

Yes, you can safely create a new backup in iTunes on your PC, restore the old backup to access the photos, and then restore the new current backup. When you perform a restore in iTunes, it gives you the option to choose which backup to restore from.

Here's a step-by-step guide:

  1. Connect your iPhone to your PC and open iTunes.
  2. Create a new backup of your iPhone on your PC by selecting your device in iTunes and clicking on the "Back Up Now" button.
  3. Once the new backup is complete, go to the "Summary" tab for your iPhone in iTunes.
  4. Under the "Backups" section, click on the "Restore Backup..." button.
  5. You'll be presented with a list of available backups. Choose the old backup that contains the photos you want to restore.
  6. iTunes will begin the restoration process, and your iPhone will be restored to the state of the selected backup.
  7. After the restoration is complete, you can access and save the photos from your iPhone.
  8. Once you have retrieved the desired photos, you can go back to iTunes and create a new backup of your current iPhone.
  9. Finally, you can restore the new current backup to get your iPhone back to its most recent state.

Remember to be cautious when restoring backups, as it will overwrite the data on your iPhone with the selected backup. Double-check that you have the correct backup selected before proceeding with the restoration process.
