why i have been temporarily bolcked from my macbook

i login my macbook my password was correct, but showing wrong password, i type another password i think may be my mistake after i have been blocked from my macbook (it is ridiculious and misunderstanding which apple makes) now i have been blocked on my macbook temporarily, how i dont know, i want to know why and when i will be unlocked from my macbook?

If you enter too many incorrect login passwords at the login screen, you could be temporarily locked out of your account.

Macs with Apple silicon or with the T2 Security Chip can impose lockouts if too many wrong passwords are entered. I think with T2 it was originally 30 attempts permitted, but Apple lowered it to 10 when they introduced Apple silicon.

It's a common security measure for any system that requires passwords to lock you out – at least temporarily – if you enter too many wrong ones in a row.


It makes it harder for someone to crack open accounts by using a computer to quickly try, say, all combinations of one or two words in the dictionary in hopes that one such combination will be the key.
