I know, I know. Everybody else wants to BLOCK calls these days. But my Mom lives in a nursing home, and given the rotating staff, different people call with important medical updates...and get shunted to voicemail without the phone ringing because these numbers are not in my Contacts lists. They do, however, all come from the same area code and prefix. What do I do to make sure I get these calls?

Ask that they text you and let them know that you will return the call to that number. Their phone number will appear on the text and you will know by the area code and prefix that it's regarding your mother. That is the only way I have figured out how to accomplish the same issue.
