Clamshell mode on the MacBook Air M2 does not work, It worked once with my new monitor but never after.

So if you are facing similar issue, I might have found the route cause of the issue, I do not know if it is consistent with all monitors but with my acer 29 inch WFSD monitor this was the case.

Issue:

Out of the box the clamshell mode worked with my MBA-M2 but after the second day it stopped working. After tons of online research, tinkering and frustration. The issue all along was not all external monitor display setting works with Clamshell mode(weird , don't know why this happens) So for my case the clamshell mode only works when the display mode is set to standard, if I set it to another mode the clamshell mode would not work, but will work if I have my laptop open.

I could check the difference between all the different modes/settings and identify the possible root cause . but I have wasted too much time and headspace on this already, May be if I cool down in a few days/months I will update this thread.

Regards

Vvk
