Multiplication sign x

Is there a keyboard shortcut for the "x" multiplication sign, not * and not the letter x at the bottom of the keyboard? And if not, how do you create a shortcut for it?

Text replacement may vary with localization of the keyboard and, per Apple, may not work with all apps. If Tom's excellent suggestion does not work for you, try this method. Admittedly it is not as simple as text replacement but it works for me, and setup takes less time that It take to read this

Set-up:

1) Go to Settings/System Preferences > Keyboard and select the "Input Sources" tab. Then select "Show input menu in menubar":

2) Once that icon is in your menubar, clicking it give these choices:

3) Choose "Show Emoji and Symbols" to get this window:

4) Select "Math Symbols" from the left pane and find the multiplication sign in the top row. Single-click that symbol to make it appear in the right pane. 👉🏻 Note that you can choose font variations that may better suit your formats.

5) In the right pane, click "Add to Favorites." (In the example I'd already added it so it shows "remove" instead.

Done. It is set up.

To access with the keyboard, do the simultaneous key combo SHIFT-CONTROL-SHIFT to bring up a quick access screen that include any emoji or symbol you've added to Favorites:

You have to single-click it to insert, but you don't have to go looking for it every time.

I get: ×

Note it includes comment on using on Macs having touchbars.
