Music cannot be directly imported to your iPad for playback using the iPad’s Music App.
To import music to your iPad from external sources, or optical media (e.g., CD), you must first import your music files to the Music Library on either a Windows PC (with iTunes for Windows installed) or a Mac computer (with iTunes or Finder - as appropriate for the installed version of macOS).
After importing your music to your computers iTunes Music Library, you simply need to synchronise your iPad with your computer:
