Instagram green dot

When was scrolling my Instagram stories today I clicked on an advertisement and then played a YouTube video on it.

When I closed the video and went back to the advertisement I got a green dot in the right corner telling me that the camera was being used.

I checked my control center which told me that Instagram used my camera.

The weird thing is that I didn’t use it.

I can not find a way to activate my camera from a Instagram advertisement or story. I have not been able to reproduce the issue. Does anyone recognize the bug/problem or know a solution?

Hi Wille38,

If you've given the app permission to use your camera, under Settings > Camera > Privacy, this can present in a number of different ways within the actual app.

We'd recommend either disabling the camera in the app or consulting with Instagram support as to exactly when and for what purposes they use the camera when in their app.

Cheers!
