Unable to sign in to Apple Developer

Why can’t I sign in to Apple Developer? It says “Your Apple ID is not eligible to sign in to this application at this time”. Why not?! I recently got this phone (brand new and all)… so I should be able to do anything, right? I want to use iOS 17!!

If you are not an enrolled in the Apple Developer program, you cannot access those resources.

If you want to enroll in the developer program, you will need an email-formatted Apple ID and not a mobile telephone number.

Here is the non-developer iOS preview: iOS 17 Preview - Apple and the beta signup link is near the bottom.

Do not install a beta on any device that you need to work and work reliably, with any data you need to be available and consistent, and with any Apple ID and its associated iCloud data that you need to be available and consistent. If you cannot wipe and start over or wipe and restore a backup of the device prior to the beta, you should not be using a beta on that device. And I’d wipe any device that has been running a beta before loading the released iOS 17, whenever that becomes available, too.

Also: Apple Watch cannot be reverted to watchOS 9, once the beta is loaded. Not without mailing it to Apple.

Same for me I can’t sign in to the Apple Developer Program and it says you have to be at least 16 years old!

If you’re not yet legally an adult (often 18 years old, though can vary) in the jurisdiction you reside, you should still be able to download and use the tools (Xcode, Playgrounds) from the app store, and can request developer access again when you are of legal age.

If your development activity is associated with a school, check with the instructor, too.

If you are of legal age of majority, check the date associated with your Apple ID.
