Apple Watch Ultra - suddenly says No SIM - No Connection

Have you set up your Apple Watch and cellular was working, then it stopped? It seems like this problem is happening for many people. I tried googling it and ended up here with no answers. I just solved it! Here's how:

  1. I turned off my watch and turned it back on.
  2. I updated my iOS software
  3. I opened the Watch app on my iphone, went to "Cellular" and clicked on the "i" under my cellular plan. I removed the plan
  4. I added a new plan (it was the same as the original plan)

Problem solved!

Definitely not the fix, been in this situation for over 2 weeks and no one knows what to do. Though it’s been noted it does show an ICCID on the watch…

Please update your watch. Also check your service app either your watch is connected to your present number or not. You will find in device section of the app. If yes, deactivate it and reactivate. If not, activate it. Until you receive activation message or mail. Switch off both iwatch and iphone and restart. I faced same issue but it actually worked for me.

I had a similar problem with my Apple Watch 7. I noticed some of my apps weren't working as expected and it turned out that they weren't able to access the Internet without my phone. I tried restarting the phone and the watch several times, which did not solve the problem. The "no sim" problem persisted regardless of proximity to the iPhone.

What appears to have solved my issue was "refreshing my connection" via my cellular provider. I have AT&T and here's what I did:

  1. Logged into my account on AT&T (on my computer)
  2. Clicked on the "Get Support" button on the left-hand side
  3. Clicked on the "Get Wireless Help" button
  4. Clicked on the "Refresh my connection" button and confirmed

After a few moments, it said it was done and to restart the watch. I restarted the watch and a couple minutes later the issue was gone. I hope this helps.

Side notes: I was not able to "remove my plan" in the Apple Watch app on my iPhone; I just kept getting a message that it was unable to remove the plan. The iPhone, Apple Watch, and all apps were already up-to-date (iOS 17.5.1, and WatchOS 10.5 both current at the time of the problem).

This did not work for us. Unfortunately after hours on with Apple, they deemed the watch in good working order and referred us to our carrier, Verizon. After hours on with them they finally had to deactivate the watch fully from the account and push out a new SIM profile. It resolved the issue but now we continue to have intermittent issues with not being able to accept calls/delayed texts on the watch. It’s very frustrating.

That was the first thing we tried, probably 30 times.

I got my Apple Watch Ultra preowned a week ago. I had no problem adding Service, I have Visible by Verizon, when I was setting up the Watch.… And it was working good, then when Verizon was down in Western Kentucky, I was troubleshooting and I reset my network settings on my iPhone. Ever since then my Watch says no Sim, No connection. I have talked to Visible about it, I have unpaired, and re-paired my watch to my phone, I have removed all cellular plans in the Apple Watch app, and added new cellular plans, none of it has worked. It’s almost like the ICCID is on my watch, but my watch is not recognizing it? Do you have any thoughts?
